Record Label Development Scheme

Creative Australia

The Music Australia Record Label Development Scheme aims to support competitive Australian labels whose primary function is delivering full label services, taking risks discovering, developing and promoting Australian talent to local and global markets.

At the heart of what they do, labels finance the production and recording of artists’ music to support their artistic and career development. Labels are taking on financial risk and providing the essential support, knowledge, and expertise required for artists to break through the noise. Concerns with Australian artist discoverability, the fragmented media environment, and impacts of changing technologies and AI-generated music, are all significantly impairing the ability of labels to remain financially viable, and subsequently invest in and support Australian talent. This investment will make sure Australian labels can continue to compete effectively, support their artists, and contribute to the vibrant music ecosystem in Australia. Grants are available from $15,000 to $125,000 to eligible Australian record labels, and Australian subsidiaries of multinational record labels, that have been operating for a minimum of 3 years.

Deadline: 4 August 2026 and 10 November 2026

Crisis Relief Grants

SupportAct

Crisis Relief Grants and support are available to musicians, managers, crew and music workers across all genres experiencing financial hardship as the result of illness, injury, mental health, older age or another current crisis that is impacting their ability to work in music. Grants are assessed for a current issue impacting ability to work in music and, if approved, will be provided through direct payment of bills or other personal expenses related to the crisis, rather than cash grants. Evidence of a current crisis will be required.

Deadline: Always open
